I know there is a procedure available for type 1 diabetes that works for 2-3 years (animal transplant that eventually gets rejected by the human immune system) but does it work with type 2 diabetes?

there arent any effective herbal treatments, but there are prescriptions that can help a little bit. best thing to do though is avoid it by maintaining a healthy weight and excercising regularly. type 2 diabetes often doesnt have symptoms early on (or they are subtle) so the only way you’d know for sure is a blood test. lots of times you can get them at health fairs for -15

on a disability? I live in Canada and was wondering if Diabetes is considered a disability? I have recently been treated for diabetic retinopathy and still have more treatment s to go.

no it isnt a disability i am diabetic and it is only a cronic illness at least that is how it is in the usa

yup……although in both of these mainly vessels 2 retina r affected…..in diabetic neovasculization is seen(in which new vessels start developing but they 4 very leaky so causes blood accumulation in viterous of eye)an emergency condition……also causes formation of flame hemorrhages and dot haemorrhages in retina etc………..while in hypertensive retinopathy silver wiring is commonliy seen also u can find AV nipping where arteries and vein crosses each other…….

My boyfriend has type 2 diabetes.
He had to cut out sweets and junk food – he eats them every once in awhile and only a small serving. Of course eating healthy all around is going to help. He now also drinks 8-10 glasses of water a day.
He tests his blood sugar a few times a day.
He exercises daily also, even if its just walking for a half hour.
And also is on some diabetic medication that he may be on for the rest of his life – although i have heard of some people that eat really good and exercise every day who don’t need the medication anymore.
He also takes really good care of his feet now since even the smallest cut on his foot can cause major infections – (which is easier for diabetics to get and it’s harder for them to get rid off.) Making sure he gets the dead skin off of his feet and lotions them everyday. And he wears house shoes around since you never know what you’re going to step on – like a tac or something.
