Diabetes Is Slow Metabolism And High Sugar, What Is The Opposite Called?

A friend claims to be suffering from the opposite of diabetes. Is there such a thing as too fast a metabolism that causes blood sugar to drop too low? How is it treated? Is it still called diabetes?
