I am considering giving my golden retriever the herb karela. How much should I give her to help with diabetes.?

I have a golden retreiver that has diabetes. Due to the costs involved0 I am considering the herb karela instead of insulin, but need to know the doseage for her. She is an average sized retriever and is 8 years old.
