Question by itfactor: What are the chances of me getting diabetes?
As far as I know, diabetes doesn’t run in my family. My dad has high cholesterol, 2 of my aunts and my mom have high blood pressure, another aunt has a thyroid problem, and my dad’s cousin died from pancreatic cancer. Are my chances high? I’ve heard a lot of these link to diabetes, but I’m not sure which one I’m at risk to get if at all.
I forgot to mention I am 19 years old if that helps.

get a fasting glucose test. it,s big in my family. i,ve never had an issue in my 62 years.

Why do you think so many more people are being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in recent years than ever before? One of my guesses is all of the preservatives and junk that has been included in people’s diets as more prepared foods have been in the markets, and fast foods.

Question by im not that innocent: What are the best ways to reduce the risk of getting type 1 diabetes?
I’m really scared that I’m going to get type 1 diabetes. I match two of the symtoms of it: extreem hunger and fatigue. Type 1 diabetes runs in my family, my sister, and great grandparents had it.

My sister has type 1 diabetes, and she told me that I have a good chance of getting it too because our great grandfather and his mother had diabetes. A lot of other people in my family have it, on my mom’s side. What are my chances of getting Type 1 diabetes?

um it depends if u eat a lot of suger. if u do, yes you are. id=f u don’t i dont think u are

Hi, well i was wondering what are the chances of me getting the diabetes when your pregnant i really don’t know whats it called but im getting checked on tuesday at my check up. so i was wondering what are the chances?? btw im 17 goring 18 on the 20th… & 6 mnths pregnate..
