C-peptide is only released when insulin is produced. Therefore, if C-peptide is not present, or is in low concentrations, doctors would, very likely, determine that the patient is suffering from type 1 diabetes. (In type 2 diabetes insulin is still produced, though is not readily used due to insulin resistance.)

Like.. a disease if they’re diabetic do they need to take blood samples? Because when my vet took my exam on my dog they just checked the body, eyes, ears, mouth, weight and structure.. I thought they take blood tests too this was $49.99 exam we’re talking about. How do they determine illnesses (besides kennel cough I know how they do)
