If your family does not have any case of diabetes, what are your chances of having it?

Just curious. I don’t have diabetes on either side of my parents. I mostly believe people have a genetic propensity to this problem.
Also, if my partner has diabetes (in her family line), what will be the chances for our kids to have it?
