I am eating everything that I need to, as far as nutritional value, but I’m also eating candy and sweets because I’m having some major sweet cravings. It’s not causing me to gain a ton of weight, I’ve only gained 4 lbs at 27 weeks. I have my glucose screening a week from today, just wondering if I’m going to cause myself to get gestational diabetes.

Is it like 1 out of every 15? What’s the probability if the dad has diabetes? Does it raise it? How about how often does a child develop diabetes if a parent has it? I’m asking because my dad has diabetes and I’m in my teens and I want to know my chances of getting it.

My mother told me she was picking up a paper from the floor when suddenly she got a cramp in her left leg and arm and then she felt a numbness sensation around her lips just for a few seconds. Then she said she started walking and she felt she was floating. My mother has a history of health issues. She’s 51, diabetic, suffers from high blood pressure and had a 4 bypass surgery about 7 years ago. She also suffers from neuropathy and retinopathy. She thinks she had a small stroke but I don’t think she had a stroke. She’s having a CT scan tomorrow. I was just wondering what you guys think it could be. Thanks in advanced.

Has anyone ever heard of a neuropathy assistance dog? What do they do? I am a severe insulin dependant diabetic that also has severe peripheral neuropathy, tachycardia, the beginnings of retinopathy, and some short term and long term memory loss. I have a very hard time getting around and lately have had to start using a wheelchair because it hurts so bad to stand, I often lose my balance and fall, and when I do stand it doesn’t take long at all before my feet feel like they are on fire and are hurting really badly. What do you all think about me having an assistance dog? Would it help me do you think?
