If you have diabetes would it show up as abnormal on your blood work?

There are several different tests for blood sugar levels. If they do one of the tests and your sugar is abnormal, it will show up. It won’t show up if they don’t test for it.

Definitely, your glucose level in your blood would be abnormally high..However, that doesn’t always indicate diabetes..For some people, it can be lowered..the people who have diabetes can’t be bring that level down except with medicine..gluck

Yes, it should but if you suspect something is wrong tell the doctor as they may want to check it over a period of time, b4 and after meals to watch for highs & low’s and see how high it actually spikes which can be missed in normal testing.

You would probably have an abnormally high fasting blood glucose. Your doctor would need to follow up with either a glucose tolerance test or a HgbA1c (this gives him an average of what your blood sugars have been in the last couple of months), or possibly both.

Of course, blood sugar level is higher than normal. I am a diabetic. Some diabetics can become blind, or even have their legs amputated. We are subject to all kinds of diseases and accidents. Life is short and uncertain. Our hope is in Jesus who died on the Cross to save us from condemnation, and qualifying us to Heaven. Heaven is wonderful beyond descriptions and forever without end. Just come to Jesus with genuine repentance and faith, and you will not be afraid of death. Best wishes for happiness and Heaven!

I am 24 years old and I have been a diabetic for all most 14 years.I am pretty sure if you had blood work done that it would have shown if you were. Some times you can be borderline without really knowing it.If you have diabetes you would most .likely have some signs of it.Tiredness, dizzy spells, nausea, sometimes headaches ,soreness, becoming irritable. All so you will feel like you have to go to the bathroom more often.I hope every thing works out for you.You will be in my prayers.

Yes but mostly they give you a glucose test.

It depends on what tests the dr. orders. You have to ask for an A1c Test, it is an average for 2-3 months to tell them what your blood glucose levels have been. It was my experience with some dr.’s that a fasting blood glucose did not show that I had diabetes until I asked for the A1c. Then followed with a glucose tolerance test.
