depends on the type.

I assume you’re older? And possibly overweight? or pregnant?
frequent urine, and being thirsty are two signs. If you’re drinking 3 gallons of water a day and still thirsty, you have a problem.
Type 2 is linked to poor diet and lack of exercise.

If you’re worried about getting it, try to cut back on sugar, sweets, junk food (yes mcdonalds is junk, so is all fast food) and try to increase exercise. Doesn’t have to be strenuous, this can be as simple as walking 30 minutes a day.

If you’re still relatively young, you might have type 1. Symptoms are the same as above, except with rapid weight loss depite eating heaps and mental deterioration.

    Usually when you are diagnosed with diabetes they look for many things. They first start with a fasting blood glucose levels. The normal range for a person is between 80 and 120 any thin over is call hyperglycemia. Anything under is hyposglycemia. then they test your urine for keytones or glucose spilling in your urine. They may also smell your breath because they look for a sweet smelling odor. Other signs to look for are frequent urination, unquenchable thirst, losing wieght with out trying to,weakness or fatigue, or tingling in your upper and lower extemities, also blurred vision or shaking feelings. But they also check the factors if it runs in your family and if your over weight. Just follow up with your doctor let her know and its nothing to be scared of and it is a really good idea to get checked for it. Best of luck to you. Hope everything turns out for the best. But you should always take care of your body.

    at the very very very beginning you cant really feel it. its usually started by an infection of some kind, after that you can REALLY feel it. at first i was just losing a bit of weight, looking a bit pale and having a nap when i came home. but then i got a cold, and i started sleeping for 18-23 hours on end, drinking cartons of jiuce all at once and couldnt feel my legs anymore. the symptoms can range from mild to extreme but whatever the power you feel them. dude go get checked. if you keep going onnline your just goin to phych yourself out its what i did and it made the diagnosis so much worse when i found out what it was. just go get it checked its probably nothing. and for someone that does not know they have dibetes, it would be VERY VERY high. like…54 mmol/l = 972 mg/dl. high. very ver high.

    I am a type 2 diabetic.

    My symptoms where;
    bleeding blisters
    frequent urination
    abdomial pain
    irritability
    no energy
    slept for 3 days strait

    My fasting blood glucose was normal, my after meal sugar was 690!

    I was not admitted to the hospital, since my bllod sugar at the time would go to normal with fasting.

    I am now insulin dependent.

I was sick at my stomach, I was confused about things that I had done for yrs–no longer knew how to do something, I felt like I was losing my grip on life, It was extremely scary.
