Question by Ashby: What week are you tested for gestational diabetes?
I’ll be 23 weeks on Monday and I have an appointment with my OB then. I thought she said I’d have to do the glucose test at that time, but she may have meant later. I wondered when you’re typically tested for gestational diabetes in pregnancy?
Also, I’ve noticed I am so thirsty lately. I know this can be a sign of diabetes. But I wondered if dry mouth/thirst is also just a symptom that some pregnant women deal with (who DON’T have diabetes)?

This is usually done between the 24th and 28th weeks of pregnancy.
I was with tested both pregnancies at 26 weeks..
I think between 22 and 28 weeks. So chances are next wee you will have it. Keep drinking tons of water no matter what. I ended up in the hospital for 4 weeks and my kidney’s started to shut down because I was so dehydrated.
I had my test at 28 weeks I think……if you are very thirsty that is a symptom of diabetes but there are several others as well. thirst can be from a number of things, not all are bad either, sometimed we are just thirsty. I am always thirsty and my levals have always been fine, I’m just a thirsty girl.

Yes your thirst is a sign more of diabetes than pregnancy. I HAD gestation diabetes and before I went in for my test I could drink 3 2ltr bottles of Cherry 7-up. Nothing else would do.
I had my test done my 4th month.so about 16-18 weeks
Between 24-28 weeks. At your next appointment the doctor will give you a lab order to do a test.
I just did the one hour at 27 weeks and failed, tomorrow I go in and do the 3 hour at 28 weeks.

More thirst is normal in pregnancy.
I was tested at 28 weeks, but I have a friend that was tested early ( 8 weeks ) because she was overweight to begin with and they wanted to rule out diabetes. She was also tested again at 27-28 weeks.
28 weeks ( it may just be that you need more water) not anything to do with diabetes. It is a simple test you drink this yucky drink and wait then they take your blood and check the levels.
I am 15 weeks and 4 days and I just had mine done yesterday.
At 28th week
i’m 23 wks too & i went to my last appt yesterday! They said that next month i’ll be tested for diabetes, so i’m sure next month they’ll do it for you too =]

Hi i hope you dont have diabetes , they confirmed that i have dibetes 3 months ago . first i orderd a free online test to check my glucose when this told me that my glucose was way to high i went to the dokter…
