you should not be drinking alcohol if you are a diabetic.

it may not hurt you right now but when you get older you will have many health issues

The symptoms of juvenile diabetes is excessive urine production, resulting compensatory thirst and increased fluid intake. Fluids ore entering and leaving your body so fast that you probably will not get drunk as fast as you normally would.

Alcohol IS sugar. If you have a death wish keep up the stupidity. Seems like you have a self esteem problem which will likely lead you to some serious medical problems soon. Not too smart.

In my experience, getting drunk has caused me to have a very low blood sugar. My doctor explained that the alcohol causes the liver not to release its stored glucose when blood sugar starts to go down. Although,I have another diabetic friend who has drank, and it raises his blood sugar. Drinking to excess is never a good idea as it can cause complications in a non diabetic. Being a diabetic puts us at an even greater risk.

    Its his life, not yours.

You go forever without sugar, alcohol, white bread etc.. then talk to people about it.

    Anyway.

Diabetes doesn’t make you less or more likely, to get drunk.

HOWEVER, a 12 pack is a HUGE amount of sugar. It’s not good for anyone.

Alcohol makes your sugar go down, and the sugar in beer makes it go high.

Alcohol isn’t a sugar. It’s a hydroxyl. it is made FROM sugar, but chemically it isn’t one.

Personally, I wouldn’t drink that much often. There’s so many calories in beer, because it has a low alcohol content, so most of the glucose is left intact.

Go for something like Vodka. It has zero carbs/sugars and a vodka/diet coke is great for diabetics.

It’s your life… you know you, so ignore all those whinging gits.
If you decide you can control it, then good for you, and drink as much as you want.

If it’s uncontrolled then goodbye feet.

What is juvenile diabetes opposed to normal diabetes anyway? To your question, maybe its very light beer? I love draught beer, but I have to count 4 units of insulin per draft and make sure I inject that, then once I had my fun check my bg out a while later to make sure its normal. I have no problem getting a buzz, but now I drink it moderately since its not really fun having to watch myself like a hawk.
