how much sugar a day could contribute to Diabetes II?

I really want to know the amount of sugar (consumed daily) that someone needs to get Type II Diabetes. I know the recommended is no more than 30g a day, but say a person goes to 60g a day, would he get diabetes?

You will not get diabetes from eating 60gms of sugar but you will stress you body and then you body will strat to stress you!!!!

Unless someone knows something I don’t, there’s not really a good answer to this question. Since diabetes is not caused by eating sugar but rather a variety of factors, including heredity, how would one answer how much is too much sugar per day? As far as I know there are no studies out there that definitively answer this either…

    Good luck! (:

sugar does not cause type II diabetes, the body develops a resistance to the insulin produced. Risk factors include but are not limited to: genes, obesity, being black or Hispanic, medications, pancreatitis, etc…

Diabetes can not be caused by diet.

as far as I know diabetes isn’t caused by eating too much sugar. It’s cause is many, but usually either when a person’s pancreas is unable to produce enough insulin to counteract the sugar consumed or the insulin is produced but the cells for whatever reason simply don’t recognize the insulin and so can’t absorb the sugar.

    Sugar doesn’t cause diabetes:

People (with the genetic predisposition for type 2 diabetes) get it from any combination of the following:
    1. POOR DIET! (mountains of evidence to prove this)
    2. poor weight management (widely accepted)
    3. lack of exercise/sedentary lifestyle

Add those up and you get a fat, lazy person, who eats too much junk food. Yes, that’s a generalization… but a person doesn’t have to look very hard to see that this is true… I’m living proof. And, I’ll bet, that well over 90% of the type twos get there just like me.

hint: it’s the fat, not the sugar:
