How often are babies born with diabetes?

Is it like 1 out of every 15? What’s the probability if the dad has diabetes? Does it raise it? How about how often does a child develop diabetes if a parent has it? I’m asking because my dad has diabetes and I’m in my teens and I want to know my chances of getting it.

While diabetes can be inherited, it is often not gotten by the children at all.

It is caused by an underfunctioning pancreas.

What you eat as a healthy person does not affect getting diabetes.

Wouldn’t hurt to have your Dad check your blood sugar once in a while.

    Relax,

I think it is very rare to be born with diabetes.
It occurs any time after birth.
