How Much Sugar Intake Would It Take To Get Diabetes?

I’m just wondering, because it seems that diabetes runs in my family, and i’m a big fan of sugar drinks, such as soda, and energy drinks.

Diabetes is not caused by eating too much sugar although too much sugar can make it a lot worse.Diabetes is hereditary and normally caused by obesity.Read about it on the internet. If it runs in your family then you are more apt to get it later in life but not always. The main thing is to start watching what foods you eat and what you drink now.Try to eat a well balanced diet and you may be able to head it off and not get diabetes.

Diabetes in young people – juvenile diabetes – is caused by auto immune destruction, not by sugar. For some reason the bodies insulin producing cells – islets – are attacked and destroyed as the body believes they are a virus.
In older people it can be put down to many factors: high fat diet, being overweight, lack of exercise, not eating correct foods (fruit and veg etc), and can also be induced during pregnancy. There could be numerous other reasons but the above are just a few examples.
Hope this helps answer your question!

It depends if it was type 1 or 2. If type 1 runs in your family then you’re fine and you really don’t have to worry about it after the age of 20. If type 2 runs in your family then you need to be careful about your lifestyle choices like the foods you eat to make sure you don’t get it. The way to tell is if they got it before or after they were 40. However anywhere between 30 and 50 could be both though so if they were that age you’d have to look up the difference to let them know, or ask them if they already know which they probably do.

Okay there are two main types of Diabetes: Type 1 and Type 2. Basically, Type 1 is when your pancreas stops producing insulin. It has NOTHING to do with eating too much sugar. Type 2 is the one that can be caused by the sugar, or other things that are mostly controlled by yourself.
Google the different types if you are still confused

Diabetes is NOT caused by eating too much sugar. Unless you have a bad diet and don’t exercise and are overweight. You should get checked for it though once a year if it runs in your family. Type 1 diabetes is not caused by any food. Google it to read more about it!

It HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE AMOUNT OF SUGAR YOU EAT. YOU ARE BORN WITH DIABETES. THEN WATCH OUT FOR TOO MUCH SUGAR.
