Is It Possible To Have Diabetes Without Having Excessive Thirst Or Urination?
Posted in Definition on 03. Feb, 2010
After looking up diabetes, I think I have several of the symptoms, but I don’t think I have excessive thirst or excessive urination. Does this mean that I probably don’t have diabetes?

Some people who have this type of diabetes exhibit no symptoms. Symptoms may be mild and almost unnoticeable, or easy to confuse with signs of aging. Half of all Americans who have diabetes do not know it.
Then there are some who have Prediabetes.
Prediabetes can be called many different things such as insulin resistance, impaired glucose tolerance, and impaired fasting glucose. They all boil down to a warning sign that you body is beginning to resist insulin and your blood glucose levels are starting to become higher than they should be. Whatever name you decide to call it doesn’t matter, but it does show us that type 2 diabetes develops slowly and this may mean that it can be avoided.
Here are some web pages that will give you more information.
Good luck to you.
The number and severity of symptoms varies from person to person. Not everyone will display every symptom. The other warning signs of Type I and Type II diabetes are:
1. Increased hunger – feeling extremely hungry, especially after you’ve eaten.
2. Unexplained weight loss – because the body’s cells are not receiving enough glucose, the body begins to break down stored fat and muscle tissue for energy.
3. Weakness and fatigue – due to the lack of insulin in the bloodstream or the cells’ inability to react to insulin, cells become starved for energy.
It’s best to consult a doctor right away.
The symptoms for diabetes are very vague and could be attributed to many things. Excess thirst and urination are very typical symptoms of high blood sugar.
The only way to know if you have a blood sugar issue is to have you doctor check it.
